Create your menus

When you first install Pure & Simple, you may notice you have no menu showing. This tutorial will help you create a custom menu which is by far the better solution and most flexibile.

The Main Menu

1. Go to Appearance >> Menus >> create your first menu by titling it in the Menu Name field as “Main Menu” or whatever you wish to call it.
2. Click the Create Menu button
3. Now you can begin adding menu items to your new menu
4. Under “Menu Settings“, select “Primary Menu“
5. Click Save Menu

The Footer Menu

1. Go to Appearance >> Menus >> click on the text link at the top area “Create a new menu“
2. Name your menu “Footer Menu” or whatever you wish to call it and then click the Create Menu button
3. Now you can begin adding menu items to your new menu
4. Under “Menu Settings“, select “Footer Menu“
5. Click Save Menu

Disable Active Menu for Home

1. Go to appearance >> Menus >> Open the main menu where the “Home” link is
2. In a CSS Class field, enter home as the class (If this field is not showing, go to the top of the screen and click on Screen Options and place a check in the box next to CSS Classes)
3. Click Save Menu

Note: You are not limited to just the two menus, you can create as many menus as you want.
