Installing Caveat Theme (Administration Panel)

• Get a copy of  Caveat Theme
• Log in to the WordPress Administration Panel.
• Click on Appearance -> Themes -> Add New
• Click on Upload Theme button at the top and browse the downloaded zip file in your computer.
• Click on Install button and then Activate the theme.

 

Installing Caveat Theme (Cpanel / ftp)

• Get a copy of Caveat Theme
• Unzip the downloaded zip file.
• Upload the unzipped file in to /wp-content/themes/
• Now, activate the theme by going to Appearance -> Themes in the wordpress dashboard.
• Activate the Caveat and Click on “Customize” in the Appearance Menu in the Dashboard. To edit the content of theme.

 

Updating Theme:

Since update are notified by the social media (twitter, facebook, gplus) of Styledthemes. We recommend you to keep in touch with the social medias for the latest updates about the theme. After an update is released, you need to go to the downloads section of StyledThemes.com and download the latest version.

Before You get Ready for Updating the theme you will need to make sure the following things:-

• If you edited the WordPress theme file previously, update may remove the settings that you have saved, so make sure that you have used the child themes.
• Backup your current theme using ftp and save it to your desired location. Go to your themes directory ->> Wp-content --> Themes using ftp and download the theme that you want to backup.
•  Go to Admin->Dashboard->Theme and select another theme that you have installed except the theme that you are going to update and activate the theme.
• Go to the Theme that you want to update and click on it and a box will appear and click ok.
• Now follow all the steps of installing the theme as we have mentioned above.
• After you complete all the steps your theme has been updated.

First thing to do is create a new page and give it the name Welcome or Homepage, just something memorable to you, the value wont be displayed. You should leave the content in the editor blank. Select the page template ‘Homepage‘ from the dropdown on the right and publish the page.

 

 Now you can go to dashboard -> Appearance -> Customize - Home page section

On Homepage section you can find following section.  You can either leave them blank or check the box to hide them if you dont want them to display.

Homepage Banner - This section display content on Banner area

 

         Homepage Content Area:  This section display content just below the banner

   

Homepage Portfolio: This section display featured image with title just below the banner

   

Homepage Portfolio: This section display latest post:

You can manage your projects under the new Portfolio menu item in the sidebar.

Similar to the way you add new blog posts, you can add a new project under Portfolio → Add Project. Portfolio projects are ordered by the date they’re created, with the most recent project displayed first. Adding a Featured Image and Custom Excerpt to each project is highly recommended, as it lets theme to display your projects in a more visual manner.  And each project’s featured image is also displayed as banner background on header area of single portfolio post

 

Here is the steps to assign menu on header and footer area:

Header Menu:

1. Create the new menu   

add menu on the menu area. Here you can add post , pages. custom links and Categories. YOu can take reference of this site to know more on this WordPress Menu User Guide

2. Select Theme Locations  from Menu Setting Section

3. Save the setting, now you will be able to see menu on header area

 

Footer Menu:

How to show site text as site title

Step 1 : Go to Dashboard(admin section) and Navigate to  Appereance > Customizer > Site identity

Step 2: Change the site title here to show the site title.

How to show site logo as site title

Step 1 : Go to Dashboard(admin section) and Navigate to  Appereance > Customizer >Site identity -> Logo

Step 2: Upload the image by clicking on  Select Logo button

Portfolio	This Templates Displays all the posts posted under portfolio posty type.
Portfolio (Shortable)	This Templates Displays all the posts posted under portfolio posty type with shortable according to the  Terms they are posted in.

Caveat is theme with fully integrated Live Composer. It comes with Page Builder Template which you can use to implement your design on every pages. More over you can construct your own header and footer with live composer.For this You can hide footer and header simply by checking on Hide Theme Header and Hide Theme Footer checkbox which is inside Live Composer setting of edit page screen.
Note: This setting is only applicable only when page builder plugin is selected
