Installing Stylistic lite Theme (Administration Panel)

• Get a copy of  Stylistic Lite Theme
• Log in to the WordPress Administration Panel.
• Click on Appearance -> Themes -> Add New
• Click on Upload Theme button at the top and browse the downloaded zip file in your computer.
• Click on Install button and then Activate the theme.

  

Updating Theme

• Backup your existing theme folder
• And update your theme as per the WordPress notification.

 

Several plugins are used for the development of this Theme. Required and Recommended plugins needed for this theme are displayed in admin dashboard.

Following plugins are recommended for Theme

a. Breadcrumb NavXT

(for BreadCrumb, i.e. navigation scheme that reveals the user's location)

b. Contact Form 7

(used for contact form)

c. Disqus Comment System

(The Disqus comment system replaces your WordPress comment system with your comments hosted and powered by Disqus. )

(used for newsletter signup)

e. Jetpack by WordPress.com

(Jetpack simplifies managing WordPress sites by giving you visitor stats, security services, speeding up images, and helping you get more traffic.)

( responsive WordPress Slider Plugin )

f. Video Thumbnails

(Video Thumbnails simplifies the process of automatically displaying video thumbnails in your WordPress template.)

Step 1 : Go to Dashboard(admin section) and Navigate to  Appereance > Customizer > Header Setting > Header Section

Step 2 : Upload Image for banner

Step 3 : adjust height for banner container

Step 1 : Go to Dashboard(admin section) and Navigate to Appereance > Customizer > Header Setting > Header Section

Step 2 : Copy and Paste revolution slider shortcode

Step 4 : Click Save 

There are three options provided for site layout

1.Full Width

2. Boxed width 1200px

3. Boxed width 1170px

To choose site layout, follow the steps below

step 1 : Go to Dashboard(admin section) and Navigate to Appereance > Customizer > Basic Setting > Site Layout

step 2 : select any one option and

     

 

step 3 : click save 

 

NOTE: Some feature are only avilable in free version, if you want to use all the feature, then please upgrade your theme to pro version.

Step 1 : Go to Dashboard(admin section) and Navigate to Apperence > Customizer > Header Setting > Menu Style

Step 2 : Choose from given option

Step 3 : Click Save

Note: Menu style 1 -> menu slide form right side

Menu Style 2 -> choose to have horizontal menu

Step 1 : Go to Dashboard(admin section) and Navigate to Appereance > Customizer > Header Setting > Sticky Menu

Step 2 : Check sticky menu checkbox to get sticky menu and uncheck the checkbox to remove sticky menu behavivour

Step 3 : give offset value for sticky menu

Step 4 : Click Save

Step 1: Go to Dashboard(admin section) and Navigate to Appereance > Customizer > Logo> upload logo

Step 2 : Upload Image for banner

Step 3 : Click Save

Note: to add logo for sticky menu upload logo in Upload Logo(sticky menu) section

There are three options provided for single post Layout

1. Blog with Right Sidebar

2. Blog with Left Sidebar

3. Blog with Left & Right Sidebar

4. Blog with Full Width & no Sidebars

To choose single post Layout, follow the steps below 

 

step 1 : Go to Dashboard(admin section) and Navigate to Appereance > Customizer > Basic Setting > Blog Layout

step 2 : select any one option and

          

 

step 3 : click save

This section contains setting for blog post like featured image size, option to disable feature image, enable or disable commnet on blog, hide or show meta option. To play with this feature please follow the steps below : 

step 1 : Go to Dashboard(admin section) and Navigate to Appereance > Customizer > Basic Setting > Blog Setting

The most common change people make with WordPress now is moving the blog further into the site and create a custom page for the front of their site; also known as a static front page. I will show you how this is done which is what I did for the live demo site for Preferential Lite. What you put on your custom front page will be up to you, but this tutorial will get you started with a foundation to build on.

Create Two Pages

1. Create one page and call it "Home" or whatever you want.
2. Choose a page template for your new front page.
3. Add your content if any
4. Publish your page.
5. Create a second page and call it "Blog" or whatever you want to represent your blog
6. Publish your page.

Tell WordPress What to Use

1. Go to Settings >> Reading
2. Under "Front Page Displays", select the Static Page option.
3. For the Front Page, select from the dropdown the Home page you made
4. For the Posts Page, select from the dropdown the Blog page you made
5. Save your changes

Add Pages to Your Menu

1. Go to Appearance >> Menus
2. Add your Home and Blog pages to the Primary Menu (your main site menu)
3. Click Save Menu

Now you have a static front page and your blog is not further in your site. Plus, you now have a Home and Blog menu link on your main menu.

This theme consists of support for Disqus Comment. WordPress comment is the default comment system in this theme. If you want to replace WordPress Default

Change site background colour (Boxed Model)

Change Menu font-size and color

You can change menu font size and color as you want. To take advantage of this feature, please follow the steps below:

Step 2 : change font color and font size for menu as you want

Step 3 : click save

 

Change button color

You can change the way the buttons looks. Change button color, button background color, as you need. To take advantage of this feature, please follow the stepsbelow : 

Step 1 : Go to Dashboard(admin section) and Navigate to Appereance > Customizer > Color Setting > Button Color

By default, WordPress will show a widget on every page that the widget position exists on. In most cases when making a website, you don't want that widget to show on every single page, so the only way to manage where and what pages it should be on is to use a plugin. You have a few options available:

• Jetpack - Has a Widget Visibility feature that adds the settings at the bottom of every widget
• Dynamic Widgets - A plugin that offers extensive options but does come with a learning curve, albeit very powerful features.

The Blog Sections are Limited

Please also note the "Blog", "Single", and "Category - Archive" sections do NOT have the following widget positions available:

• Inset Top 1, 2, 3, and 4
• Bottom Inset 1, 2, 3, and 4

Using Jetpack Widget Visibility

1. Go to Jetpack >> Settings 
2. Look for "Widget Visibility" and activate it
3. Go to Appearance >> Widgets
4. Drag any widget into a widget position and at the bottom of this widget, choose how and where to publish it.
5. Click Save on the widget

Using Display Widgets 

1. Go to Plugins >> Add New
2. Search for "Display Widgets" and install it
3. Go to Appearance >> Widgets
4. Drag any widget into a position and at the bottom, you can select where to show the widget.
5. Click Save on your widget
