Thank you for having this question and resolution. Please note that I have been trying to fix this issue for the last couple of days. This was very informative. I do like the suggestion given. Most themes I work with that has a banner or slider are responsive. First time I had to use a text widget in a banner sidebar. Now, I have to look at Steve’s suggestion because I want the banner on my other pages. I need to check out this widget-visibility-without-jetpack that he talked about. Thanks again
