Hello.
Is it possible to customise the 404 page? I know how to edit the text displayed but for example i wanted to have a different picture on the page. But, as the 404 page is not in the list of pages or posts, I was wondering how to find it and add content to it.
Thank you
Hi Stefano…first, which theme is this for? I will have to move this topic to that category if this is theme specific. However, the 404 page will be found in the theme files, so if you go to your dashboard and then to Appearance >> Editor, you will be able to find the 404 page file (404.php).
I do recommend using a child theme if you plan to make any changes to a core file of a theme because then any theme updates that come along, your modifications won’t be lost. So if you use a child theme, you would simply copy the 404.php file and put it into the child theme folder, then make your changes there.
Never mind, found out. Advanced text plugin plus Display widgets plugin and ticked box to show on 404 page.
All i wanted to add was something to make the page look like the other ones:

Thanks anyway for replying so quickly.
No worries, and you’re very welcome…by the way, I like the 404 page you did.
As a side note: I just noticed this was for Celestial Lite…for future reference, I’ve moved all support to the wordpress.org site for my Lite versions of themes (something the team there prefers).
With our premium themes, we offer access to site documentation, video tutorials and timely support. Even if you have just started on WordPress, our support staff have the patience to help you create appealing sites gracefully.
