Hi, can anyone tell me how to assign the showcase header to the front page only?
At the moment it’s visible on all of the pages and I only want it on the front page.
    Thanks

Hi Fiona….I’m assuming you are using a widget to load in an image or slider? You have a few options:

    1. Install Widget Logic plugin then in the bottom of the widget, add this: is_front_page()
    2. Install the Advanced Text Widget, then insert your image with that and select “Front Page” on it’s setting.
    3. Install Dynamic Widgets plugin and use that to assign “any” widget to select pages.

I would recommend option 2 and install the Advanced Text plugin because it has settings to show the widget where you want…in this case, the front page. You would just need to add your shortcode to the text field of it if you are using a slider, or if it’s an image, use the tag to insert your image.

I had the same question but am having trouble understanding your answer. I used Widgekit for my slider and would like it to appear only on the front page, but your options are for Widget Logic, Advanced Text Widget, and Dynamic Widgets. I have all three of these installed but since I set up my slider with Widgekit (per the instructions), I’m confused about how to use these other plugins.

Please forgive if this is a dumb question – I’m not the most techie person on this forum I’m sure.

I figured it out! I didn’t realize that Dynamic Widgets overrides what you set up in Widgets so I turned off the Widget Default on Static Pages except for the Front Page. Yea!!!
