    Hi – I selected my page “blog” for most posts page in Settings>reading. Now when I do a post, it does post my text to the page called blog,
    http://www.annaliesetassano.com/blog/

    but the complete blog post is given a permalink that is blog post specific that is not the blog page, and only on that iteration of my post are there the sharing, commeting options that I want as part of my blog entries on my blog page.

    http://www.annaliesetassano.com/welcome-welcome/

    Can you please let me know what I am doing wrong? Thank you.

    Hi Annaliese Tassano,

    Could you please explain us on detail, we are confused on your requirement. Anyway we tried to describe your requirement as follows:

    1> Declaring blog as post page [dashboard -> setting -> front page display-> check on static page -> selecting blog page as post page ] will list down all the post on that blog page.

    2> When click on welcome welcome, it will directs to single page with its unique URL, this is default behaviour of WordPress

    If this helps to answered your queries than its aweome, otherwise please describe your requirement with screenshot so it will be easy for both of us to find the solution of the problems as soon as possible.

    Thanks

    What I want is when I make a blog post for it to show on my blog page as not only the text I have written but with the ability for my readers to comment. Currently, when I do a post it shows on my blog page, but it only shows test without any interactive options. Then it also does the default page creation which does show the interactivity option like comment box, share buttons, etc. I have the static page selected for my home page (on the settings/reading menu) and I have “blog” selected for my posts page. I do not mind that it is still doing the default page, but what I want to resolve is that “blog” only gets the post as a block of text. Does that clarify?

    Hi Annaliese Tassano,

    It seems you want comment for on every post of blog page. If so then you need to customize blog-style.php template keeping on child theme. You need to keep this following function after the post content.

    @SEE https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/comment_form

    Note: Only proceed this process if you are technically sound on WordPress or else please take help from developer.
    Please use child theme, to customize parent template so your changes will not lost on theme update.

    if this is not what you meant for , then we request you to come on live chat, so we can discuss clearly on this.

    Thanks

    I have located the blog-style.php file in the partials folder for the child theme, but I am not certain where to insert the tag you have given me. Can you tell me where it goes?

    ANd, yes, my site is backed up and I shall save a version of the untampered with code before inserting the new code.

    Thanks!

    Hi Annaliese Tassano,

    It seems you are using blog style2 , so please replace the code of blog-style.php by the following code

    <?php $bloglayout = get_theme_mod( 'blog_style', 'blogstyle1' );

    	switch ($bloglayout) {
    		// blog style 1
    		case "blogstyle1" :
    			echo '
    '; //the_title( sprintf( '

    ', esc_url( get_permalink() ) ), '

    ' ); echo '

    '; if ( is_sticky() && is_home() && ! is_paged() ) : echo ''; _e( 'Featured', 'puresimple' ); echo ''; endif; echo ''; if(the_title( '', '', false ) !='') the_title(); else _e('Untitled', 'puresimple'); echo '

    '; echo '
    '; if ( has_post_thumbnail() ) { echo ''; } $excon = get_theme_mod( 'excerpt_content', 'content' ); $excerpt = get_theme_mod( 'excerpt_limit', '50' ); switch ($excon) { case "content" : the_content(__('Read More', 'puresimple')); break; case "excerpt" : echo '

    ' . puresimple_excerpt($excerpt) . '

    ' ; echo '
    '; puresimple_multi_pages(); if( get_theme_mod( 'hide_edit' ) == '') { edit_post_link( __( 'Edit this Post', 'puresimple' ), '', '' ); } echo '
    '; break; // blog style 2 case "blogstyle2" : echo '
    '; if ( has_post_thumbnail() ) { echo '
    '; } else { echo '
    '; } echo '
    '; echo '

    '; if ( is_sticky() && is_home() && ! is_paged() ) : echo ''; _e( 'Featured', 'puresimple' ); echo ''; endif; echo ''; if(the_title( '', '', false ) !='') the_title(); else _e('Untitled', 'puresimple'); echo '

    '; echo '
    '; $excon = get_theme_mod( 'excerpt_content', 'content' ); $excerpt = get_theme_mod( 'excerpt_limit', '50' ); switch ($excon) { case "content" : the_content(__('Read More', 'puresimple')); break; case "excerpt" : echo '

    ' . puresimple_excerpt($excerpt) . '

    ' ; echo '
    '; puresimple_multi_pages(); if( get_theme_mod( 'hide_edit' ) == '') { edit_post_link( __( 'Edit this Post', 'puresimple' ), '', '' ); } echo '
    '; break; // blog style 3 case "blogstyle3" : if ( has_post_thumbnail() ) { echo ''; } echo '
    '; echo '

    '; if ( is_sticky() && is_home() && ! is_paged() ) : echo ''; _e( 'Featured', 'puresimple' ); echo ''; endif; echo ''; if(the_title( '', '', false ) !='') the_title(); else _e('Untitled', 'puresimple'); echo '

    '; echo '
    '; $excon = get_theme_mod( 'excerpt_content', 'content' ); $excerpt = get_theme_mod( 'excerpt_limit', '50' ); switch ($excon) { case "content" : the_content(__('Read More', 'puresimple')); break; case "excerpt" : echo '

    ' . puresimple_excerpt($excerpt) . '

    ' ; echo '
    '; puresimple_multi_pages(); if( get_theme_mod( 'hide_edit' ) == '') { edit_post_link( __( 'Edit this Post', 'puresimple' ), '', '' ); } echo '
    '; break; // blog style 4 case "blogstyle4" : echo '
    '; if ( has_post_thumbnail() ) { echo ''; } echo '
    '; echo '

    '; if ( is_sticky() && is_home() && ! is_paged() ) : echo ''; _e( 'Featured', 'puresimple' ); echo ''; endif; echo ''; if(the_title( '', '', false ) !='') the_title(); else _e('Untitled', 'puresimple'); echo '

    ' ; echo '
    '; if( get_theme_mod( 'hide_edit' ) == '') { edit_post_link( __( 'Edit this Post', 'puresimple' ), '', '' ); } echo '
    '; break; }

    Note: Once again we request you to proceed this steps only if you are technically sound on WordPress, otherwise you will be in trouble.

    Thanks
