ParticipantHi, In the demo, the page header is a slider, yet I cannot seem to find documentation on how to turn the static header into a slider. Currently, i have four headers “randomized” but that is not exactly what the client wants. This is the site: https://maisondecheveux.com/
also, I would like to update my theme, but is this possible if i am using a child theme?
thank you

ModeratorHello Blake,
For header slider,
Please follow the tutorial here: https://www.styledthemes.com/documentation/pro-themes/lavish-pro/Yes, you can update the theme if you have used the child theme. It’s always recommended to use child theme which allows you to make and save any custom changes you want to make so that they won’t lost upon theme update.
NOte: Be sure to make the backup of your website. You better use duplicator plugin to make a backup. https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/.Best Regards,

ParticipantI searched the LavishPro tutorial before I wrote you and I was unable to find anything about changing the static header into a slider — which is why I posted. All I can find is information about the two header styles (but it does not say what the two styles are) and about “randomizing” (which is the solution I have settled on) but it is not really what my client wants. Can you more specifically send me the url where a LavishPro slider header option is specifically discussed? thanks

ParticipantHey, still no answer…I searched the LavishPro tutorial before I wrote you and I was unable to find anything about changing the static header into a slider — which is why I posted. Can you more specifically send me the url where a LavishPro slider header option is specifically discussed? thanks again

ModeratorHello Blake,
Steps to set up the header slider;
1. First of all you need to install Slider Revolution plugin which is a premium plugin bundled in your theme package or available here https://revolution.themepunch.com
2. Then set up the slider referring the following video tutorial;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-ZvH9dBEz0
3. After saving changes now you can also select the header styles inside customizer.Regarding theme update;
You can refer here https://www.styledthemes.com/installing-updating-themes/Please let us know.
Thanks!

ParticipantThank you for your response. I have built a revolution slider for the front page header, but after checking header settings and header styles, I do not see an option for a slider. I can choose “heading 1” or “heading 2”, but neither of these give me the option to insert the slider code, nor to choose the slider I created. There must be one more component? or do I need to update the theme before this option is available?
thanks again!

ParticipantUpdate.I found the revolution slider in the widget section, so I added it to the frontpage and it works, except the 2560 x 400 size is way to big for the slider, as the image cuts off. Is there a simple way to change the size of the slider? and still have it be full width? I have tried the different settings in the revolution slider, but none seem to work.

Participantsorry to send so many notes, but in the dashboard update section, I do not see “an update” for Lavish Pro listed (but there are updates for other themes I have installed but am not using)…I am using Lavish Pro Child, so the instructions you sent me said to simply update the lavish pro parent theme, but since no Lavish Pro is on the list of themes to update, it does not offer me that simple sounding solution.
thanks in advance

Participantps…i currently have 4.1.8 according to my “downloads” on the lavish pro theme account. thankyou!
and here is the revolution slider sizing question again:
blake moreUpdate: I found the revolution slider in the widget section, so I added it to the frontpage and it works, except the 2560 x 400 recommended header size is way to big for the slider, so now the header image cuts off. Is there a simple way to change the size of the slider or is there a suggested “slide dimensions”? and still have it be full width? I have tried the different settings in the revolution slider, but none seem to work.

ParticipantHi,
I managed to figure out the header slider…now my only question is about the updates…
i currently have 4.1.8 according to my “downloads” on the lavish pro theme account — does that mean i am updated automatically, as i did not do an update…
thank you

ModeratorGood to hear that Blake!
Regarding the theme update, well it shows youare using the older version of the theme i.e 4.1.1. Don’t you have any theme update alert over the theme ?October 17, 2017 at 7:09 pm #50973blake more
ParticipantHmmm…No, I don’t. I’m going to include my dashboard theme update options screen shot so you can see if I am missing something. I also looked in the plugin updates (just in case) and on the Customize page (where I pick the theme)…i am using the child theme as I said before. If you would like to look at the backend, let me know..thank you.

ParticipantWow…i just got a call from the client with a new issue…the responsive menu cuts off in the mobile view…it only goes to the “gallery” section…so press, book and contact do not function…what would cause this problem?
I’m including a screen shot to show you what i’m talking about…
urgh! i thought i had it…perhaps an update will fix this too?
