I want to change the header but the menu “header” doesn’t show the page where i can do so. I only get the note (on the left) that i am changing the site, but the page on the right is empty. (See attachment)The same happens with the menu’s “customizer” and “background”.
Btw: the old header is as normal shown on the website.
Can anybody help?

Please refer to the theme documentation tutorial on how to customize the header i.e;
You can visit: https://www.styledthemes.com/documentation/pro-themes/preferential/
and go to >> Cusromize the top header background area.
Do not forget to provide your site url if that doesn’t help.

Thanks for your answer.
I know how to change the header and did that earlier. But, as you can see in the attachment, at the moment I don’t get the menu on the dashboard to do so.

Seems you need to update the theme to the latest version. http://docs.presscustomizr.com/article/141-how-to-manually-install-or-update-a-wordpress-theme
Try it once or else your child theme might have been messed up.
Please let us know

Before deleting the old version of Preference Lite theme I have looked where to download the new version.
But there I cooldn’t find the theme prefence lite, or is that because the old version is still installed?
I didn’t dare to try it by deleting the old version, because I’m afraid to lose my whole website.

It seems as if the theme Preference Lite doesn’t excist anymore.
Its now called Preferential Lite and I have downloaded that one.
When I use the new theme WP doesn’t show the Appearance menu either.
Can I conclude that the problem is not caused by the theme but else where?August 8, 2017 at 7:50 am #48446
Have you tried switching to standard wordpress theme like 2017 or 2016 ? http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-properly-switch-wordpress-themes-on-your-site/
Also Deactivate all the plugins if you are using any and reactivate each one by one to check if the issue is occuring from them. Consult the plugin manager if error occurs.
We’ve checked we don’t have any issues with the theme.
Please let us know.

I followed your last instructions. The problem was caused by a plugin called “username”.
I even don’t know why this plugin was activated and I think I can delete it because it looks like it has no important function.
Thanks for your support en patience.
