    Andre:

    Please tell me if there’s a preferred way to do this . . .

    I want to change the default body font size to 16 and the default body font style to Helvetica.

    I would make these changed in the Parent Theme’s Style.CSS file, right?

    Hi Roland….the default body size is already 16px, but any changes should be done in the child theme if you are using it.

    I am using a child, yes.

    . . . but the default is not 16pts on my build: http://dariahowell.com/test-page/

    So now what should I do?

    I just took a look to refresh my memory…thanks for the link. The body styling in the style.css line 76 looks like this:

    body {
    font-size: 13px;
    font-size: 0.813rem;
    line-height: 21px;
    line-height: 1.313rem;
    }

    I use two font sizes, px for older browsers and the rem for newer. The above code means that the rem value will override the px. Also, I see I made the body as 13px (normally I do it at 16). If you need a reference to convert px to em (also rem), I use this online tool:

    http://www.pxtoem.com

    Any sizing in rem in the stylesheet will be relative to the base size of the body, in this case 13px (and 0.813rem).

    So are we saying that if I change the default px size FROM 13 TO 16 that it’ll work, or . . .

    . . . are you saying I need to change both the px and the rm?

    You can choose which one, but basically if you want 16px, then you could change the current 13px to 16px, then the rem would be 1rem (1rem = 16px)

    Or, you could remove the rem lines and just use the px value instead.
