Changing width or template for posts category page

In Preference Pro theme, category page that shows all posts made within a single category, is a bit narrow. Rights side is empty like its waiting for right sidebar, but right sidebar is not showing. I would like for this category page to use full width, like it is with Celestial theme.

How can I change template category page is using?

Also, when there are many posts, additional category pages are created under link http://www.site/category/page/2/. Is it possible to define how many posts go into single category page so second page is not needed? Also, since url of my category page is http://www.site/category/, adding 2 sub-pages depth (page/2/) for the second page to show up seems too much. Is ti possible to shorten this url to something like http://www.site/category/page2/?

If no widgets are showing in the right sidebar on your Category view of posts, drag a widget into the “Blog Right Sidebar” position. As for wanting a full width without sidebars on the left or right, this is not possible with this theme.

For number of posts to display per page, you set this from your WordPress Settings >> Reading

For changing the url, this will require changing the permalinks or using a plugin for doing this kind of custom url structure.
