I would like to control the content in each column and 1) cannot locate where the column content is so I can edit it; 2) want different content in right column of each page I build. Very new to this theme and to WP so please be gentle! 🙂

    lol… I’m always gentle 👿

Anyway, I’m not quite sure I fully understand what you are wanting to do when you say control the content in each column? Perhaps if you could describe it in more detail or if you have an example, that would give me a better idea of what you are trying to achieve.

Here’s the website I’m moving to WP: http://accreditedgemologists.org/. As you can see, there is a left and right column. Here’s another page with only a left column but different content that the home page http://accreditedgemologists.org/bonanno.php. Does this help?

Ok, I think I understand. You want to have the ability to do the different layouts for different pages in your site? You can definitely do that with this theme because it has different page templates you can choose. So when creating a page, there is a feature on the page editor that lets you choose the page template layout you want for that particular page by choosing from a drop down select list.

Thanks. I did try that, however there’s no way to add things to the columns w/o a plugin. The plugin I found was too cryptic and not at all WYSIWYG.

Unless I’m misunderstanding what you are trying to do, but it’s a basic WordPress function to drag any WordPRess widget into the sidebar columns, in this case, the Page Left Sidebar and the Page Right Sidebar. So if I missed something, you will have to explain again, perhaps differently?

So here is a question for you….is this the first time you have used WordPress? If so, you may want to check out this site: http://www.wp101.com which offers a great set of WordPress video tutorials and he does an excellent job of instructing and describing how to use WordPRess. I used them once myself long ago when I First got into WordPress.
