I’m using the Modern Tribe plugin Events Calendar. It creates a custom post type Events.

There’s an option in the plugin settings to append Events to the blog. This works on some themes but not others. It doesn’t work on Encounters. Any idea why?

Unfortunately I don’t know the answer to that one…I would suggest contacting the developers and ask why it works on some things and why not others. If it doesn’t work on Encounters, they should be able to tell you what is unique that their plugin needs in a theme.

This is one of those things where I keep getting sent from pillar to post! Modern Tribe say it must be because the theme isn’t using the standard method of calling blog posts on the home page. However yours isn’t the first theme I’ve tried that doesn’t work with it, and in the past when I’ve asked the theme creator, they’ve all said they do use the standard method. It’s not a huge problem, it just’s an annoying limitation. I’d much prefer to use Encounters on my Events site but I can’t see any way to set up the home page unless they append to the blog, so I’m stuck with using another theme. Mysterious

That happens a lot… technically it should be that plugins work with themes rather than the other way around, unless a theme is built around a specific plugin. What is it that this plugin is supposed to do that is not working in the theme? You mentioned it appends to the blog, but what gets appended?

Perhaps I can take a quick look but I cannot guarantee anything because this is related to a third party product.

NOTE: Does this work with any of the default WordPress themes?
