Error with Social Media Links

I’m setting up my social networking bar and getting a strange error. For Facebook, I entered this:

https://www.facebook.com/LECarmichaelAuthor

but when I click on the resulting button, it sends me here:

http://www.lecarmichael.ca/www.facebook.com/LECarmichaelAuthor

Same problem with the Twitter button. Flickr and Pinterest are working fine, though – any ideas what I’m doing wrong? Thanks!

strange problem… not sure why or how. What are you putting into the facebook and twitter fields?

I just loaded my pages and then copied and posted the links into the fields in wordpress:

https://www.facebook.com/LECarmichaelAuthor

https://twitter.com/LE_Carmichael

ok, now I see the problem, but easy fix. When you add the links, do the full absolute url. So for example, don’t do:

http://www.facebook.com/profile

Do this:

http://www.facebook.com/profile

Of course your link will be different but basically make sure you have the http part.

lol… I just noticed my forum script turned it into a link and removed the http part visually. But if you got it working, awesome.
