    Hi,
Eventually I intend to create a custom menu for the ‘primary menu’ but in the meantime I just want to exclude individual pages from the default ‘Primary Menu’. How do I do that?
    Thank you

You would have to use a plugin, but as to which one I do not know, although I know they exist. The other option is to add coding to exclude theme. However, I’m not sure why you would not want to start a custom menu and just add only what you want along the way, but that is really the best solution. Plus, the custom menu is the one that has the theme styling.

    Hi,

Thank you for that. I was just trying to save time and looking for a simple solution. I want to create a custom menu with drop-down menus exactly like the Preference Demo and couldn’t see a tutorial covering this. Do I have to download one of the recommended plugins?
    Thanks,
    John

Using a custom menu is the better solution because it offers more flexibility. There is a tutorial for setting up a menu https://www.styledthemes.com/preference-theme-setup/20-setting-up-your-main-menu-and-other-menus

I generally don’t do tutorials for WordPress, but the tutorial should help out. There’s also videos on Youtube if you need visual help with creating submenus which is done by dragging and dropping menu items into another menu item (parent item).

With my new Styled Themes website for 2014, I will possibly be doing WP tutorials (the basics).

    Hi,
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I don’t usually bother with custom menus but use navigation plugins for simplicity however, the following link is an excellent tutorial if anyone is interested. I’m very pleased with the results.
