Extra pages

When I search for my website, I get two additional pages that come up.
One is a “Sample Page”
The second is a “Coming Soon” page
How do I get rid of them so my compete website is all that comes up?

Do you mean, when you do a Google search? Do these pages exist? If you go in Dashboard -> Pages -> All Pages, do you see these pages?

Hi there. Yes when I google search. These pages do not exist in Dashboard at all.

Hello Lesia,

Had you created those pages before? Sometimes the deleted pages are still tracked by google and do not delete permanently for some period of time. Also clear the cache and try again.

Yes I did create them at one time. I will try. I just hate that people will go to the wrong one and it says it missing.

Sadly, it is difficult to get it out of the search engines. 🙁

I can recommend an easy solution for this:

create a robots.txt file (add it in your wordpress root folder) and put the following content in it:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /sample-page/
Disallow: /2017/07/02/hello-world/

this will block google for crawling those pages
