MemberIt’s like am a magnet for noticing issues with themes. Featured image is not being showed in post. Post format is standard. Image is visible however in category page listing all posts.
Wanted to post this in Celestial Reloaded topic.

ModeratorI’m guessing you mean the featured image is not showing in the “full” post view of an article? If so, I did not add that code for it because in the past I’ve had many people say they didn’t want it there so they can use their own different image in the full view and keep the “featured image” only for the intro summary part, so i left it out. Then times I get some say they want it there…lol :S

MemberYes, am speaking about full post view. I was, again expecting for featured image to show in full post view (standard format) as in Lite version I used previously, if featured image is selected, it is also shown in full post view. I don’t know, to me its the most logical solution that if someone selects a featured image they are selecting it to be shown in full post view also.
But I suppose I’ll get use to this also. Featured image is shown in category/post summary page, and if I want to to show full post view also, I’ll just insert it as regular image at the top of the post, or something like that.
p.s. This is exactly what I did (imported image into post) and was playing around with settings and choose the ‘aside format” when I get this: Fatal error: Call to undefined function celestial_entry_meta() in /home/xxx/public_html/netrpimnepravdu.rs/wp-content/themes/celestial/content-aside.php on line 22. Didn’t modify content-aside.php

Moderatorit wouldn’t be that difficult to add the code…it’s only a small piece which I can write a quick tutorial for it if you want it?
REgarding the error…you inserted an image into your post for aside format?
August 14, 2013 at 11:14 pm #18155Eric Nevitt
MemberTutorial would be welcomed as this solution used by people that say they want to use their own different image in the full view, is not working for me. Image is simply being duplicated in category/post summary page. 1 image is coming from the post and 1 image is featured.
Regarding the error, I inserted an image into post, selected aside format and error is there. Here is how it looks exactly: http://www.netrpimnepravdu.rs/izmena-pravilnika-zdravstveno-osiguranje/ Like I said, didn’t modify content-aside.php so am confused where it’s coming from.
p.s. It seems that all other of my posts show the same error if aside format selected.

ModeratorIf you are inserting an image for the summary but to show on the full post, you would simply not use the Featured Image option at all. But I will write up a tutorial how to add the code for the featured image to show on the full view.
As for the error…I just added an image to a test post using the aside format and was not able to replicate your error. In fact I did two posts and no errors.
How is it you are getting to that aside post, is it a link to it?
Either way, open the content-aside.php and comment out this line:
Like this:
See if that helps.

ModeratorAs promised, here is a quick tutorial how to get the featured image to show on the full post view. If using a child theme, copy the content.php file into the child theme. Otherwise, the change will be this…around line 53, you will see this line of code:
Make it look like this:
This will make your featured image show up.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you have a backup copy before making any changes.

ParticipantEric Nevitt again, hmmm…
Ok, not using featured image but rather inserting image into posts, solves the double image issue. Solution is very similar like when using featured image on Lite version, image shows up in full view and category/post summary page.
Aside format post doesn’t show post title in category/post summary page and full view by intent, right? No “edit” button either?Regarding the error, am getting to aside format post in 2 ways: via main page link to post created by “Posts for Page Plugin”. Both give the same error but also opening the link directly. Both give the same error. Additionally, using breadcrumbs links.
I did what you proposed and edited content-aside.php and it worked. No more error.
Also, the quick tutorial did the job. But, how can I get the grey rectangle background for the featured image that stretched over the width of page? Like it is in the Lite version. I kind of liked how this background emphasized the featured image.

ModeratorThere’s lots of things here, so is it just the question left about the grey container of the featured image the only remaining one? Technically that should not stretch across and should be wrapping around the image, so that effect of it stretching is a bug.
August 17, 2013 at 9:19 pm #18181Goran
ParticipantNot that many things really. OK, container stretching is a bug.
I just asked if “edit” button and post title missing form aside format post are by intent or another bug. Doesn’t matter anyway. Important thing is you are aware of all the mentioned here and can correct in future releases, if needed. Don’t plan on using aside format at all.August 17, 2013 at 9:39 pm #18182Sushil Adhikari
Moderatorthe edit button was intentional actually because I didn’t think people used that on the front-end. I know when I am working with themes, it’s something that annoys me as well the WP top bar on the front-end. But, for future themes, I should probably keep the default features of WP intact for others. As for my next theme, there’s a ton of new features and adjustments which will be part of it…a sort of next generation of theme for Styled Themes.

ParticipantGreat. Can’t wait for the new theme.
I think edit button is useful as it represents a shortcut to editing posts/pages. In standard post format there is “edit” button and I use it all the time.March 14, 2014 at 2:56 am #19425Goran
ParticipantHi. I see that latest Celestial Reloaded theme has new feature that now lets you enable or disable the featured image on the full post view. How is this working enabling/disabling working? I am failing to enable featured image in full post view even with the latest theme.
Ignore my question. I’ve found it (theme settings)
