    A:

    I’m using Preference (lovely theme, btw) and I’m stumped with where or how to choose a color for the footer navigation in the “Appearance >> Customize” panel — see pic attached

    Should I just hard code this in the parent theme?

    ah… you would ask that finally. I actually made a note the other day to add that to my next update of Preference (which is coming soon). In the mean time, add your colours:

    #st-footer-menu li a  {

    }
    #st-footer-menu li a:hover {

    }

    Little preliminary notice about Preference….I am planning to rebuild it from the ground up with fresh new coding, better implementation of features…and more.

    #st-footer-menu li a {
    color: #ffffff;
    }
    #st-footer-menu li a:hover {
    color: #ffffff;
    }

    Well my attempt didn’t work :-\

    I’m looking forward to your rebuild of Preference. When you rebuilt Celestial it was profound and it’s now my all-time favorite theme. Let’s see if Preference Redux can unseat CR.

    That should work because I just did it on my end….perhaps it’s a browser cache that needs clearing?

    Nope – still not working.

    Although, as the page is still loading I thought I saw a flash of #ffffff but when it fully loaded . . not.

    So I changed color (got to try different things, sometimes) to this:

    #st-footer-menu li a {
    color: #eeee22;
    }
    #st-footer-menu li a:hover {
    color: #eeee22;
    }

    And still nothing . . . 🙁

    I said this before, I seriously need a vacation. Totally my fault.

    Open the functions.php of the parent theme and look for this line:

    #page-footer-wrapper a {color:;}

    Change pagebottom_link to pagebottom_links

    I left the “s” off links. So now the Colour setting for Page Bottom Links will work.

    And so I don’t need this:

    #st-footer-menu li a {
    color: #ffffff;
    }
    #st-footer-menu li a:hover {
    color: #ffffff;
    }

    . . . because I can make the changes from Appearance >> Customize, right?

    Try it and see if it works for you without that.

    Yup!

    Works with or without that code.
