ParticipantHow does one get giant google map like you have on contact page? Thanks. I promise my questions will cease soon enough.

ModeratorFirst, not to worry about questions….that is what support is for 🙂
Anyway, it’s done from the plugin’s map settings for the width which should be set to 100% and the height (if you want it to be like the demo) is 350px.May 16, 2013 at 7:41 pm #17803K Faylor
ParticipantWhich plugin is that? And how do you get it to appear above form, address, etc?

ModeratorI’m guessing you did not find the video tutorial for this?

ParticipantI am using alienwp responsive slider for homepage slider. I have the shortcode in advanced text to show in showcase only on front page.
However, if I use banner showcase for google maps just on contact page, google maps goes away on contact. Am I doing something wrong?

ParticipantA better way for me to ask my question is: What plugin do you use for slider on front page if one does not use layered slider plugin. I think the plugin I use from celestial theme does not cooperate well with this theme.

ModeratorYou can basically use any slider you want, although some may need some style adjustments more than others. The two sliders I keep at the top of my list are the LayerSlider (although this is a paid one), and also a plugin called Widgetkit which is a combination of different things, one is a slideshow. You can see this in action on the Preference demo site. However, when you mentioned that the google maps goes away on the contact page, that is odd. Do you have a link to your site? Also, if you still run into problems, I can help out but I might need admin access to see what is happening for you (if so, email me the login info, don’t post it here).

ParticipantI am first going to try widgetkit plugin. In encounters package, the widget kit file…. where do I install that to?
Thanks

ModeratorThat is going to be my second video tutorial once I finish the layerSldier one…but basically you will need to download the widgetkit plugin from yootheme.com and install it just like a regular plugin. This will get added to the bottom of the left admin group of menu links. The encounters folder inside the extras folder of the theme package (found in the widgetkit folder) will go into the widgetkit plugin’s folder by uploading it to:
/wp-content/plugins/widgetkit/widgets/slideshow/styles/
The setup will be almost like the Prefrence theme setup tutorial shows.
I will have the two video tutorials, one for the LayerSlider and one for the Widgetkit one done within the next 3 hours.
