The Encounter theme is working well on my sites, but I really really miss ONE feature of my old theme, which was the Path theme. It has one page template which allowed posts to be displayed in a diminishing grid style.

I say diminishing because the first few posts are in a normal grid layout (showing a featured image and excerpt). Then the next set, further down the page, are just a small featured image and a heading. Then the rest of the posts are just headings. I liked it because it allowed the reader to get an overview of what’s in that section without having to scroll down a very long page (as they would have to do if every entry has an image and excerpt).

I have one site where this display would be very handy for one section so I really miss it! It’s called the “slider” template in Path because it also includes an optional slider for sticky posts at the top – but that would be achieved with a plugin in your theme, if needed.

Always good to get suggestions, requests, and feedback. I can always check this out…do you have a link to a demo of where I can see this in action? I’ve never heard of or seen this type of functionality so it might be something for me to check out.

Sorry, I don’t as I’ve already changed the themes on all my sites.

It’s a free theme available in the repository – just set a page to the “Slider” template and you should see it.

Basically it’s just a grid layout, but instead of showing all posts the same, it shows only the first few posts with image/excerpt, then gradually shows less and less detail as you move down the page. I like the fact that it’s just that bit different!

It’s the free one called Path? I will download that tomorrow and check this one out. Thanks.
