ParticipantI’m using the Widget Kit for my Showcase and want to change the height if possible. I put the new height of 450 pixels in the settings and it makes the image the correct size, but the showcase box is still set to 540. Is there any way to change this, or do I need to change the size of my images to fit it properly?
Thanks, Ron

ModeratorShouldn’t be an issue, but if you could please post a link to this page this is on, I can take a quick look at the source code and see what is keeping it at 540px.

ParticipantYes, it’s at http://spidergallery.com/wordpress_a/
Also, when putting in your sample text I had to remove the background colors for the text because they stretched all across the page right up to the edges. However, you will notice that everything from the text down has a transparent gray background. What’s that about do you think?

ModeratorHi Ron….it looks like you are starting this site and not much done yet. I then noticed your version of Celestial Reloaded is 1.5.3 (which is quite old) so what I will have you do, are two things:
(1) go to the Downloads on the main menu and download the latest Celestial Reloaded 2.6.5 theme, unzip it and then install the theme inside that.
(2) delete the one you have and do a new clean install of the new one
(3) Then, take advantage of the tutorials for this theme (with videos) and follow the Widgetkit Slideshow tutorialYou’re on a very old version and this newer one just might help you out on many things, such as the slideshow. There is a custom style I made for this theme and the latest version is what you will want to use. One thing I did not anticipate though is when someone uses the default style of Widgetkit’s slideshow. The button nav below the slides is what is causing the extra height because it’s not floating on top (layered) of the curved graphic, whereas my custom style does. I will need to try adding extra styling for the default one so that it does float on top.
If you decide you still like the “default” style of the slideshow, let me know and I will try and work something out.
UPDATE: Actually, contact me from the Email Support form and I will send you Celestial 2.6.6 (the latest update which I haven’t put live yet).

ParticipantBefore I start, I don’t know what you mean by “and then install the theme inside that.”

ModeratorWhen you download the Celestial Reloaded theme, it’s a package file. Unzip that to your desktop because inside is another zip file, which is the theme you install. However, I’m working on the next update of this theme which is going to be version 2.6.6, which is why I want you to contact me from the Email Support form and I will send you the updated version. But still download the version 2.6.5 package because it has updates of a child theme, custom style for the slideshow…and more. But the theme I will send you can be installed to replace the old one you have.

ParticipantActually I have another question, if you don’t mind. I have completed sites using all of your themes except for ‘Pure & Simple.” They all work find. Is there any reason why I should update them?

ModeratorI just sent you the version 2.6.6 of Celestial (celestial reloaded is becoming Celestial). This is considered to be a beta version and not an official release yet, but you can still try this one out.
Regarding your other question, I would say if they are working fine and no issues, then they can be left alone.

ParticipantIs the Child Theme supposed to be version 1.0.0?
October 12, 2014 at 6:52 am #20528Sushil Adhikari
Moderatoryes…if you are going to use the child theme and you are already using one, copy over any changes you made into the new child theme style.css file, otherwise, yes, version 1.0.0 for it. It’s rare that a child theme would need updating, if any.

ParticipantIf you look at the site again, you’ll see that the size still doesn’t work. I had to leave the text out because it really screwed it up.
I can just add the text to the image if I need to. Do you think I just have to make the image the size of the default? I’m trying for 450 pixels.
Also, if you click on the image it brings up the image alone. That is not good.
Whatcha think?

ModeratorI got this forum post notification around 1am, so I will follow up tomorrow with this. Not to worry though, we’ll get this fixed up.

ParticipantHere’s a good one for you. In rechecked everything this morning I found that I had left the style as normal, so I set it as Celestial and it disappeared completely. It put it back on default so it would show up again, although still sized wrong.

ModeratorOK, I had some sleep, coffee, breakfast and ready to go here. So I see you have version 2.6.6 up and running. So now what you need to decide is if you want to use the widgetkit slideshow’s “Default” style or if you want to use the one I created for Celestial? Regarding the Celestial style, I’m assuming you uploaded that to the widgetkit slideshow as the tutorial describes it…and the slideshow disappeared? I think this one I might need admin access if you are OK with that? If so, contact me via email (don’t post your login in public view here) and I will check this out.
