MemberHello
Please view the two images in the attached file.
The questions are fairly self-explanatory – but 1) can you help with this slider lay out please as it does not look anything like your demo – not sure where I went wrong.
2) the 4 columns have all been loaded the same way, but the formatting is no good. In fact, when i added these widgets the ‘site links’ ‘recent posts’ and ‘information’ sub headings/bullet points appeared from nowhere.
I am not super tech savvy so a simplistic answer (if possible) would be awesome
Thank youJune 10, 2014 at 10:04 am #20059Daniel
MemberCan I change my question please – #2) I have removed the sit links, recent posts, information sub heading. How do I create a link from the title of the picture “fully responsive” “unlimited colours” “exceptional support” and flexibility and stability” on your live demo to a page in my site?
Thank youJune 10, 2014 at 7:29 pm #20061Sushil Adhikari
ModeratorI need a link to your site to see how your slider looks because saying it does not look like anything like the demo is very difficult without seeing it to know what you mean by that. I’m going to assume you are using the Widgetkit slideshow?
As for your other question…this will be basic HTML on how to make a link. This will help you:

MemberHi mate
Thanks for the quick reply.
My site has a basic coming soon landing page up – http://www.metiswealth.com.au so not sure if that will help you.
I have taken a screen shot (attached) showing my question.
Your slider has the text aligned really well, whereas you can see that mine is not so good with the bars taking up the full width of the screen and a blue text box also.
Thanks for your helpJune 11, 2014 at 3:56 am #20068Sushil Adhikari
ModeratorUnfortunately I don’t see a screenshot here (actually you are the second person in a few minutes who tried attaching one to the forum). Is it possible to access your site with a login account to bypass the Coming Soon page? This will work much better because then I can use my browser webmaster tools to see what is happening directly.

MemberSure mate. How can I give you my log in details (without giving them to everyone on the forum)?

ModeratorGot your login detail…thanks. First thing I noticed is that you have not uploaded the “celestial” style (skin) for the slideshow. You will need to do this by uploading via FTP to where your plugin is; the setup tutorial should show this. The Circumference theme also has a similar video tutorial which might work better for you, the only difference is that you are uploading the “celestial” style. When uploaded, go to your slideshow and edit the drop down selection to be “celestial” under Style.
The other problem is that your images are all different sizes. For a consistent layout, you need to make sure your slide images are the size you want, and based on your slideshow settings for width and height, your slides need to be 1920×540

MemberHi mate,
Can you please tell me how to add / edit text in my footer. Not the footer menu, but the very bottom of your page (on the demo it reads “copyright @2014. your name. all rights reserved”
Thank youAlso – I am clueless how to access the FTP you are referring to in your comment above.
Thanks for your help!!

MemberMy man,
No need to comment on the FTP stuff – all sorted.My only two questions before the website is completed is;
1) Adding a logo to the footer as mentioned above
2) On the 4 thumbnails on your home page (“fully responsive”, “unlimited colours” etc). How can I link those to other pages on my website? I cannot figure out how to add code on there. A “dumbed down” version of how this works would be great please.
Thanking you

ModeratorTo add a logo or do any kind of modification to the footer requires you to know some basic HTML and CSS. The file you would be modifying is the footer.php. If you are planning to change any theme file other than the style.css file, I recommend you use the child theme for this theme then so you can keep getting updates.
For your question about linking the images. My thoughts are that you need to start checking out some online tutorials for basic HTML and CSS, and of course one for how to make an “Image Link”. Theme support doesn’t cover teaching html or css, but I would recommend you bookmark this site because it’s actually quite good for anyone new to coding:
For image links, it’s basically this where the “your link here” is your full url to what you are linking to and the img src tag is the image src line of code that gets linked. Same principle for a text link with the tag wrapping what is being linked:
For things like this, do a Google search and you will find 1000’s of tutorials for html and css.

MemberThank you for that – will get onto it.
Can you please tell me though, how to access the footer text to edit it? On your demo site it reads “Copyright © 2014 Your Name. All rights reserved.”
How do I find that text to edit it?
Will leave you alone after this question. Thanks again. Great theme

ModeratorYou’re very welcome. That w3schools.com site is quite good and even I have it bookmarked for reference.
For the footer question….What part of that copyright are you wanting to change? If it’s just the part of “Your Name”, there is a theme setting for that. Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Basic Settings >> then change the Copyright field to be your own name.
