ModeratorI just repackaged the themes (both) and zipped them up but I am going to make a first guess that the theme files inside the package are in a double folder which WP is looking for the file in the first folder which is empty (the theme files are in the second duplicate folder). I will look into this and fix it but in the mean time, you can still install the themes by unzipping the theme file as well (the one that is inside the theme-package.zip and then manually upload the theme folder which probably looks like this:
/preference/preference/your theme files are in this one

MemberI was right… “my issue”…. I forgot that you “zip” the installation “zip” files…. keep up the great work!

MemberOne more question…. how do I install the updated theme over the original theme…. here’s the error I just got:
Installing Theme from uploaded file: st_celestial.zip
Unpacking the package…Installing the theme…
Destination folder already exists. /home4/MYFOLDER/public_html/wp-content/themes/st_celestial/
Theme install failed.

ModeratorWait… just one question….did you try installing the preference-package.zip and the celestial-package.zip ? Or did you unzip these first to your desktop and then use the WP installer to upload and install the preference.zip and celestial.zip that is inside the unzipped packages? (which is how it’s done)

MemberYes… I tried to install your “downloaded” zip files into the wordpress theme install… which was wrong.
Once I unzipped your downloaded zip files and used those… I had not issue with Preference since it was the first time that I installed that theme… but, since I already had Celestial installed I got the above cannot install error.February 7, 2013 at 5:55 am #17547Joe Jeffries
MemberShould read “I had no issue” not “I had not issue”… but, still have an issue updating my Celestial version 1.0.

ModeratorOK, as it turns out, if you already have the Celestial installed, active or not, WordPress does not have the ability to upload and replace the existing theme with a new version. You have to unzip the new theme file, then manually upload the files to replace the existing theme files.
IMPORTANT: If you made any changes to the current Celestial theme “files”, overwriting them with the new version means you will lose your modifications made. However, if you have not made any changes to any files, you can overwrite them with the new one.
RECOMMENDATION: Before doing the above, I would recommend making a copy of your current theme files.
