Hello,
I am looking at the prospect of converting to WooCommerce for my shopping cart with the Pure & Simple Pro theme. Pure & Simple Pro is now the home page of my website; I have it set so it does not have any sidebars. I would like the shopping cart to have a left sidebar with categories as well as shop navigation – can this be done without changing the “no sidebar” of the static home page?
We’ve downloaded the WooCommerce plugin and have been playing around with it but the navigation looks like it’s right at the top of the page with just a dropdown. Clearly I haven’t a clue what I’m doing. I’d like the navigation to be along the left rather than at the top so my uneducated guess is using the left sidebar page configuration for the shop pages.

Clicking on shoppe takes you to my current shopping cart. I’d like to do something similar to this in style with WooCommerce (We’re fudging the style because we’re currently using X-Cart which doesn’t have a plugin for WordPress).
Our test shop using WooCommerce – http://www.paperwhimsy.com/?post_type=product
This kind of navigation is what I’d like to mimic – http://www.harley-davidson.com/shop/womens-motorcycle-clothes
Is this possible with the Pure & Simple Pro theme?
Thank you!
Hi Gale,
If you want to use the woo commerce sidebar as a left sidebar then you can choose the static page templates as page with left sidebar and put all the widgets in page left sidebar.
Regarding the menu types just like the link you provided the theme has not such feature, but our customization team can set it up if you want.
Do have a question if you have any?
Thanks
Thanks for the reply. I think I understood what you meant.
I’ve created a static page and the Page Left Sidebar does show up with product categories, cart etc. And I’ve also added a tag under some text to show products from the relevant category. Easy enough. http://www.paperwhimsy.com/amazing-alterables/
However, the main shop still doesn’t show the Page Left Sidebar. http://www.paperwhimsy.com/shop/
If I tell woocommerce to use the page that is working as the main shop page then it will strip out the sidebar.
On a probably related point, is there something in Pure and Simple Pro that overrides changes I make to woocommerce’s archive-product.php?
I’m using a child theme and copied the file to a woocommerce subdirectory..
Hi Gale,
If you want to make your static page left sidebar go to that page and edit and select the template to page with left sidebar, the same case goes to shop page.
The theme is just woocommerce supported not woocommerce integrated so there is no such mechanism to override the archive-product.php but will assure within few weeks our next update with woocommerce integrated will be out.
Thanks.
Hi Shekhar,
Any ETA on the next update with woocommerce integrated, as mentioned, above?
Thank you.
Hi Gale,
Due to the recent earthquakes our work schedule has been affected so much, So integration of Woo Commerce in Pure Simple Might be released in upcoming weeks.
Thanks.
Shekhar,
I am so sorry. I had no idea where you were located otherwise I would have been more sensitive and far less impatient. Please forgive.

 I have installed the pro version of Pure & Simple. However, I don’t understand why my products and categories pages don’t follow the same layout rules (css) at the rest of the site. Please look here and tell me why Pure & Simple is not working right with ALL the WooCommerce generated pages.
Hi Kristine ,
Please use the proper size of the product image so that layout of page and product similar to demo.
Thanks
The Catagories and Products pages are still not following the correct template
The Categories and Products pages are still not following the correct template. As you can see there is no padding on the page.View Category page
