Tagged: Aligning Text, Blog Layout, Excerpt Characters
I have a couple questions related to how to reconfigure the layout of my blog. First to start with how it is currently set up. My home page is the blog and I have selected Blog Summary 3 (Large Photo, Left Alignment) as my preference. This means I have two different layouts on the Home Page and on the layout seen when you click the Read More button to access the full blog post.
What I want is to have the layout on *both* the Home Page and the Full Blog Post look the same. And I want that layout to be the one that is reflected on the Full Blog Post. In other words, 1) I want the Blog Title and Date, etc. to appear above the image and 2) on the Home Page I want the amount of text that shows up in the excerpt to extend to 400 characters and 3) on the Full Blog Page I want to know how to make sure the text on the right side aligns with the width of the picture so there is more white space between the blog and the sidebar. As it stands right now, the text (in the full blog post) extends well beyond the width of the picture).
I have included a screen shot of what my home page and full blog post page looks like right now so you can see what I am talking about and what I am requesting. Thanks much and I will look forward to hearing back from you.
Hi Stephanie,
Here is the answer of all question..
1.Blog layout same as full blog post.
There is no blog layout which looks similar as full blog post. You can select one from the four Blog summary style.
2.Showing up excerpt to 400 char.
You can do this by clicking on excerpt on Content or Excerpt . Then you can input Excerpt length to show number of words.
Go to dashboard ->Appearance -> customizer -> Basisc setting
Note: You can divide your content simply by adding read more tag on to the post. So Blog page will show just content before the read more tag. See here for reference:

3. Extend image to full width of content.
if you place image of minimum 845px it will cover whole area and comes same as content width.
Let us know if you got any problems with this.
Thanks
