It looks like #content.site-content padding is 48px top and bottom. Where does that come from? I don’t have anything there and would like to remove the space below the banner. 2020.sharicohn.com

Kindly note #content has padding: 3rem 0 3rem, which gives 48 px on top and bottom.
In case you do not wish any padding there, delete it. If you prefer padding on the bottom, i recommend the following settings: padding-bottom: 3rem.
alternatively you can just add this CSS override to your customizer / additional CSS section:
#content {padding: 0 0 3rem 0!important;}
