ParticipantGenerally in WordPress, when I set a featured image for a post, it will cause it to display as a thumbnail like in Recent Posts, or as an image in a slider, etc. Meanwhile, the post itself won’t depict the image.
However, in Encounters, I noticed that it also inserts image in post above text. This isn’t optimal as one may have an image that is not big enough to look decent in a post, or perhaps they may want the image to the left, to the right, in the center, embedded in text, etc.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks.

ModeratorYikes, not sure how I missed this posting. Anyway, Not quite sure I understand what you are referring to exactly? Do you mean when viewing the full post, the featured image loads in that page view, but you do not want that there? If so, I was thinking perhaps I should remove that thumbnail from the single post template so that it only shows on the intros.

ParticipantI’m used to just setting a featured image if I want it to appear as a thumbnail, etc, for a post. Then if I also want said featured image to be in the post itself, I would click on “add media” and so on.
Currently it appears that after you publish a post, by default the image you set as a featured image is inserted above content. Naturally this isn’t optimal as people will just want to set featured imaged to appear as thumbnail on Recent Posts Plus widget, and only have text in the post. Or people may want to position image within text to their own liking.
Know what I mean?

ModeratorTotally understand…it makes more sense for the most part. So what I can do is create an update that removes that (which I will need to do before too many people download this theme). Give me a couple hours to create an update that will strip out the featured image code from the full post template.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention as it helps to improve on themes with feedback like this.

ModeratorAll done… I’ve uploaded the new version of Encounters to 1.3.1 which changed the content.php file to only show the featured image on the intros only and none when viewing the full post. This will allow the author of a post to use their own images (if any) with greater flexibility. Again, thank you for the suggestion and pointing this out.

ParticipantWorked like a charm. I figure you’re super backed up with theme updates/developing new theme that it’s probably overwhelming. Apologies for various questions, but hopefully they may help other users in the future so your job is easier.

ModeratorGlad to hear it worked! Also, I’m always busy but don’t worry about asking questions, that is what support is for.
Cheers! -
