Home › Forums › WordPress Themes – Premium › Celestial (Celestial Reloaded) › showcase has blue in the background
hi
I’m having trouble with the showcase on the homepage of new.professormichaelfitzgerald.eu
i can’t get the images to fit fully in the space. I tried changing sizes etc but if i get to fit one there’s another one that you can see the blue again in the background or bottom corners..
can I either make them fit in correctly OR get rid of the blue background?
Thanks in advance
Because the theme is responsive, your images will resize (down size) based on the width of the image where the height is relative to that. So if you had an image that was 800×600, and the window reduces by 50%, then your image will resize down to 400 px wide, but the height will be relative to that maintaining proportions, therefore the height will be 300 px.
Your three slideshow images are:
1907 x 497
1907 x 419
1765 x 500
So each of those will respond to the browser window size and this is why you end up with the spaces below showing the background blue because your images are different sizes (the original sizes). You will want to make sure your images are the same size and that your slideshow settings also match that height as well.
IF you want the background blue to be gone, or changed to be white like your image backgrounds are, you can go to Appearance >> Customize >> Header Image, then look for the Showcase background colour option and change it to white.
Thanks
i tired adjusting the showcase height but it doesn’t seem to actually make it any smaller? I want to reduce the size a little so it doesn’t take up most of the page.
I assume that’s where I need to set it no?
It’s your images that will have to be resized then uploaded again to your slideshow. So whatever height you want, make your images that height as well your slideshow to match. The key though is that your images have to be deleted and then upload the new sizes of each one. So if you want 1920 x 400 for example, make all your images that size, as well, your slideshow settings.
