Andre, I want to put a Website Designed by….. notice on the site I’m working on. On all the others I did I have it above the copyright notice, and I’ll be damned if I can remember how I did it. If you can just tell me where to look I’ll go there and see how I did it.

    Thanks, Ron

I’m guessing you had done it directly in the footer.php file of the theme.

That’s sounds familiar. Where do I find that file?

It’ll be in your theme files….but as it is often warned that when making theme file modifications, you need to use a child theme so that you can keep getting theme updates and not lose your custom changes. If you are using a child theme, you would copy the footer.php file into the child theme and then make your changes there…normally with the Edit under the admin Appearance menu group.

A reminder that if you are not using a child theme and you decide to do this, it means when you activate your child theme, you have to redo your theme options and settings again because WordPress would see this as a new theme activation.

Andre, I looked at the footer.php file in one of the sites that’s set up the way I want, and there is nothing changed in the file. It must have been done some other way. Do you have any thoughts? You must have come up with the way to do it, I don’t think I would have done it without your help.
