MemberI followed the directions for the slider creation like the demo and all went well. For some reason though I am not able to get the buttons to show to allow one to move from slide to slide manually. On the Widgetkit slider options I have chosen Buttons “show”. I have tried this different ways with the Navigation option but still no success. The site is located currently at http://www.wilmothpropertyservices.com/blog

ModeratorThanks for the link because it made this one easier to troubleshoot…however, I just want to make sure that you have the style set as “preference” in the slideshow dropdown. Plus, that fact you uploaded the full “preference” widgetkit style to the plugin style folder? Also confirm that you have the Buttons set to “show”?
I just grabbed one of your slides and your caption you have for it and loaded it into my test site. When I mouse-over, I get the nav buttons showing in the lower right. I tried this in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, IE, and Opera.

MemberI believe I have everything set up correctly and uploaded the full Widgetkit Preference style. Since you are able to get the buttons it seems they are there. They are not showing up. I actually guessed where they are on the image and was able to see a link and click and moved the slides forward. All the settings are also confirmed. I then did try to open the link in Firefox and the buttons did not show which is odd since you were able to with the link?
Is there a specific file that I should search on my host to see if it did not get uploaded correctly? It really appears the buttons are there but just not visible.

Moderatorhmmm… hard to say how to go about this because I still get the buttons showing. I’m thinking perhaps do a complete uninstall of Widgetkit and reinstall it (hopefully you only have the slideshow setup) and try fresh and new. One other possible test you can try is to disable any third party plugins you might have installed and activated. I’m wondering if there is a plugin conflict.

MemberOK…probably uninstall first and reinstall widgetkit. That will take some time but I was worried you might suggest that also.

ModeratorBy the way… I am soon to release a complete remake of Preference…but to be released as a new separate theme. I just started on the live demo site, but you can check it out as I continue to put it together over the next day or two. http://demo.styledthemes.com/preferential/
Anyone who has a Preference theme gets Preferential free. I plan on retiring Preference.

MemberSo maybe I won’t spend much more energy on the widgetkit Preference files and just load the new one when it becomes available…thxs..looks great. I was just about to launch this new site but will hold off and hope the conversion is easy.

ModeratorThe new one is estimated to be ready for use by Monday. I still have to write new tutorials, videos, and put together the package for download.

MemberMaybe I should have started a new thread under Preferential but the problem with the buttons and navigation not showing continues with the new theme. I have ensured that the proper images folder and 2 files has been uploaded with the preferential slideshow under the widgetkit folder. I have tested activating the navigation or the buttons within the widgetkit set up. I still have no buttons but I can approximate where to click and the action is activated. It appears the images themselves are just not showing up. Any ideas?
Here is link to the site

ModeratorOdd it doesn’t want to work. I think the best thing for me to do is log into your site’s admin (if possible?) and check this out. If you will grant me access, please go to the Support page and click on Email Support and send me a link to your login, username and password.
