How did you create on the Preference Demo Home – the top content section that begins with “Welcome to Preference”, “Preference is an amazing …” and has a right sidebar? I’ve tried using the Call Out with a formatted Advanced Text Widget, but that doesn’t do it. I’ve also tried Home Page content but that’s not it either.

I created a page using the Front Page template with the right sidebar, added the content with an image (the model) aligned left. Then the sidebar widgets are published to the Page Right sidebar, but I controlled what widgets are seen where by using the Dynamic Widgets plugin.

The testimonial on the page is published to the Inset Bottom position using the Advanced Text widget because you can disable the title on that plugin (which is great), and of course, this plugin widget also lets you select where you want to show this in your site….in this demo, I selected “Front Page”.

The other widgets on the page (with content, title, and images) are published to the Bottom 1, 2, 3, and 4th positions. Again, I used the “Dynamic Widgets” plugin to control where in the site I wanted these to show up. You could probably use the Advanced Text Widget instead because it lets you also manage where the widget will be seen, so using the Dynamic Widgets plugin is an option (bit more learning curve though for it). For smaller sites it’s good but for “LARGE” sites, take it slow enough as you build your site and you should be fine.

Probably what I am going to start doing for themes, is to add a tutorial(s) to setup a website just like the demo site….usually the question comes up about my front pages on themes.
