Use excerpts for blog posts

When I go to the page with all my blog posts, I would like to see the excerpts only. I want to make a manual summary (excerpt) of every posts, and my blog posts page should only show those summaries. After clicking the reader then can read the whole post.
How do I do this?

I was looking for the place to add my excerpt or summary, while writing my post, but I don’t see it…

update: I had to look at the screen options.
Now I have checked the box with ‘excerpts’ and added an excerpt to my post.

But when I go to my page with blog posts, I still do not see the excerpt. It still shows the long posts.

How can I create a blog page with only excerpts?

Hi Karin,

To show the excerpt please follow the steps:
Go to dashboard -> Appearance -> customize -> Basic setting -> Blog setting -> Go to content or excerpt -> and checked on excerpt and save the changes.

This will display the post excerpt.
