Widget Bottom Inset

Hello,
I think there is something I don’t understand with Pure & Simple theme.
When I put a widget in the Bottom Inset area, I don’t see anything.
For example, I put “Search” in the Bottom Inset 1″ : can you see it ? If you don’t : why ?

I realize that I see the widget “Search” on pages, and only on pages. Is it possible to see a widget in bottom inset on posts too ?
