Not even sure if this is possible, but often I would like to place something in a widget immediately under the main content/text area on the page, but if the widgets in the sidebar fill more space vertically than the main content area there’s a big blank space before the Bottom Inset or Content Bottom widgets. Usually I come up with a workaround, but a suggestion anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I’m not sure I follow what your suggestion is for a new theme or future theme update, especially when there are widget positions above and below the main content for most of the current themes?

Sorry, I guess I’ve worked too long today. :silly: Just a comment for thought, not necessarily for any particular theme.

Here’s an image of what I encounter. The copy/images on the page end at the top of this screenshot example, the side bar has a few widgets and it is “longer” than the page content. The Helpful Information is in the Inset Bottom widget and the widget images are in the Content Bottom widgets. Anything in theses widgets will always display below whatever is last in the sidebar widgets. My options are to remove widgets/content from the sidebars or place the content that would be in the widget on the actual page.

This is just a random blue sky thought, like I said, not even sure it’s possible because how the content display is dependent on the screen size/resolution to a certain extent.. Probably not possible the more I think about it. Carry on. 😆

Ah… now I have a better idea of what you are referring to. It sounds like you would like to be able to move that bottom widget closer without all that white space. Coded into a theme depends on how it was coded and laid out, but there is a possible alternative which is to load a widget directly into your page or post content via shortcode. If you do a Google search for “insert widget into post page content” you will see many results relating to this and how to do it.

    Cool thanks. I’ll try that!
