Your tutorial for the Widgetkit Slide Show was easy to follow. My slide show came out fine but it’s on every page rather than just my homepage. How can I limit it to just the homepage?
By default, when you publish a widget, WordPress will show that widget on every page, so you need a plugin to control what pages gets that widget. Normally I use and provide a quick tutorial about a plugin called Dynamic Widgets, but I just found another one that seems to be easier to use for people. This one is called “Display Widgets”. It adds a selection method of pages on every widget so you can choose where that widget will be seen. This is how you can show the slideshow on just one page, such as the front page.
Awesome! Thanks!
Just FYI, the “Display Widgets” worked for awhile but then stopped being adjustable in any way and would not save settings, even if I turned off all other plugins. I switched over to “Dynamic Widgets” and all is well.
Interesting….thanks for letting me know. Display Widgets is an easier alternative, but Dynamic Widgets is still a much more robust and flexible plugin in comparison; just a bit more learning curve. Anyway, I’m going to assume everything is OK now?
Thanks. Yes, all is OK now.
