I changed the parent theme and it now looks amazingly different. I don’t know why I hadn’t asked this question before.
So should I have changed the parent theme or the child theme in this case, as you will probably change it later in a future upgrade.
Thank you, that worked, I was changing the attributes on the actual blog page.
OK now I have found it, I was using Black Studio TinyMCE which doesnt have that checkbox, I have changed now to Text widget. Thanks for explaining all of that. I finally have it right and understand the difference between the widgets.
Hi Andre, even though that worked, where is the check box that I need to uncheck to not allow paragraphs? I didn’t understand where to find that.
Thank you, that worked.
Unfortunately, that didn’t work.
I took out the
I also removed the align centre.
However, I don’t know where to do the instruction below
“Also make sure that the checkbox is unchecked on the text widget for automatically insert paragraphs.”
Hope that this step alone may fix the issue
Thanks for the most thorough response. I will try that fix shortly.
Sorry, I thought I clicked on the Encounters theme.
I think I clicked New Topic from the start page, not after I go into the theme.
This is the site so you can see what I mean. On the Bridal Bouquet page and the Buttonholes page. there is an area below the banner, It doesn’t disappear even when I make the image higher.
I Can’t seem to get it to work. This is how I used the colour on the four price lists, but it still stayed in pink. Is this correct?
- 4 Page Basic Website

- Gallery 20 photos $150 extra

I couldn’t find any other way to do this in the snippets in the extra folder.
The test site is mostly in green, so I wanted to keep the colour consistent throughout the theme.
Thanks in advance.
Just on the same topic, I have tried to change the colour of the price box at the top with no luck. Can you let me know how to do this.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks Andre, I totally forgot about the extras folder. I will have to have a look at what’s in it again. I might find some more gems.
Thanks once again.
Unfortunately I am not that clever with coding. So the next best thing is to replace the description under the title with the phone number. Sometimes we have to make compromises. Thanks anyway.
Thanks for that explanation. Sometimes things take a little while to sink in. Just about finished the site so thanks for your support and once again the beautiful template.
Thanks Andre, I have put it in, but I think I have put it into the parent theme. I have the child theme installed and activated but when I click on the select themes to edit, I click Encounter Child theme, there is only the style.css in it. It also gave me a warning at the bottom to say it was the parent theme. I also looked through the ftp files to see if the footer.php was in there under the child theme, but I couldn’t see. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for that Andre. I have already started using the child theme to make some of these changes. By the way, I have added Styled Themes to my website. Its a free business directory for anyone who wants to register, It’s not far off being complete and I am really happy with the way it looks and had had so many great compliments. Looking forward to spreading the word around to help business succeed.
